What is a Tribe Building Experience?

The Tribe Building Experience brings your people together to create unprecedented connections with each other by sharing wisdom, telling stories and offering lessons learned along the way.  By facilitating deeper conversations on life's biggest topics, your team will build unbreakable bonds, and become a tribe that can accomplish great things!

From revolutions that changed the world, to sports teams making franchise history, close social ties between members of a group were the backbone to the greatest accomplishments ever witnessed. The Tribe Building Experience will move your team past being cordial colleagues, and toward being one of those same forces that have always moved mountains.

What happens when a team becomes a tribe?

  • Strong social bonds amongst team members results in them being 12 times more productive at their jobs.

  • Meaningful relationships rank highest on employee engagement scores, which has shown to lead to an average of 21% higher year end profits.

  • Organizations with high levels of human connection are 5.4 times more likely to be agile, 3.2 times more likely to have satisfied customers, and 2.3 times more likely to have engaged employees.

  • 46% of workers cite an unmet desire to work with people who trust and care for each other as a reason to quit.

  • Strong social ties in the workplace have been shown to decrease deceit among co-workers and increase trust and a desire to collaborate.

  • 58% of employees would choose meaningful relationships at work over higher paying positions somewhere else.

  • Personal benefits from having closer social ties include decreased blood pressure, lower levels of stress, improved mental health, and a significantly lower risk of illness and disease.

Topics that touch the heart

At the Tribe Building Experience we dive into big topics that create big connections.  Life and death, highs and lows, trials and triumphs, and a few embarrassing stories in between.  Imagine group therapy meets open mic improv!  While boundaries are always respected, participants are encouraged to be honest and authentic about their past, present and future in order to gain a deeper understanding of each other.  By creating a safe space for people to share, Stuart generates a meaningful conversation that simply can't be had at work.

Hot Seat

At multiple times throughout the Tribe Building Experience, Stuart invites audience participants to join him at the front of the room to engage in a deeper conversation on a topic of their choice.  Ranging from a workplace challenge, to a lesson learned from a difficult time, these random moments give yet another angle into the team members we're supposed to know.  During these colourful, and often emotional exchanges, Stuart will draw out important messages by facilitating comments from the crowd, while interjecting with valuable lessons from his own life.  Things fire up in a good way on the hot seat!

Stories That Heal

For thousands of years, growth, learning and a chance to heal happened because the right story was told.  Some were funny, while others were heart-wrenching, but by the end the listener was left with a deeper understanding of themselves, and the world they live in.

The Tribe Building Experience harnesses the power of storytelling by tapping into the life events that shaped the people in that room.  It may be a story of love, perseverance, forgiveness, failure or a near death experience for all we know.  In all cases, these stories give others a chance to be inspired, let go and to know they are not alone.

When Two Become One

Let's face it, people on your team spend more time with some colleagues than they do with others.  That's to be expected in any work environment, and while it's not a bad thing, it does present a challenge.  A group that is composed of individual smaller relationships, no matter how meaningful they are, will never compare to the strength of the entire group being connected as a whole.

But with busy schedules, personal commitments and a life outside of work, how do those who rarely connect find themselves engaging in meaningful conversation?  Especially in a hybrid work environment!  The Tribe Building Experience quickly fills that gap by ensuring multiple one on one moments are created between those that don't always get the chance to talk. Whether it’s over lunch, during a break or while celebrating the accomplishments of the day, we create magical opportunities between members of your team to connect by discovering the many surprising ways their lives overlap.

Conversation Between Colleagues

What's the time commitment?

True bonding requires a greater time commitment than what it takes to go bowling or axe throwing once a year!  Remember, this is for teams that are serious about becoming tribes.  For that reason, we ask organizations to commit to a minimum of at least one day up to a maximum of two days.  If you want to land in the middle, and have 1.5 day experience, that's no problem!  We just need at least a day to create bonds that will last a lifetime.  The more time we have, the more opportunities there will be to connect.

What's the financial investment?

Depending on the size of your group, the time commitment you make and the location of your event, the investment in this experience fluctuates.  Do you have an awesome space at your office where this can happen, or do we need to rent out something fancy?  Are simple sandwiches enough for lunch, or do they expect multiple caviar breaks throughout the day?  Whatever you need, we will price it accordingly, and get you a quote.
